Destino Cafe Specialty Coffee is a cozy spot tucked into the heart of Las Palmas, a few blocks from the popular Playa de Las Canteras. This café strikes a balance between straightforward comfort and a serious appreciation for specialty coffee, making it a quiet favorite for both locals and visitors who prioritize quality over flash.

The atmosphere inside is unassuming and practical, with enough indoor seating to escape the nearby street noise—a useful perk considering the cafe’s location on a busy stretch of C. Albareda. There are also outdoor spots for those wanting to soak in some sun or watch the city wake up. Mornings here have a gentle busyness as people grab their coffee and pastries before heading off to work or sightseeing.

Destino clearly knows its coffee. The bean selection leans toward lightly roasted varieties, with standout moments like a decaf cappuccino made from Honduran beans that offers a bright, clean finish. For espresso lovers, the blends are smooth and well-balanced without the bitterness that can often plague city coffee bars. There’s also filter coffee for those who prefer a cleaner cup. The baristas are friendly and efficient, which helps during the bustling morning rush.

The menu complements the coffee nicely, focusing on breakfast and light bites rather than heavy meals. Expect classic options such as a creamy Café Con Leche, good-quality croissants, and freshly warmed cinnamon rolls with icing that locals have specifically noticed for their freshness and softness. Savory choices like bagels with salmon or sandwich de pollo offer a quick but satisfying start to the day. Cakes and daily specials add variety, appealing to those who enjoy a casual sweet finish alongside their coffee.

Destino Cafe suits early risers looking for reliable, well-prepared coffee with a straightforward menu that won’t waste time. It’s also a convenient stop for travelers heading to or from the ferry, or for anyone wanting a quality caffeine fix within walking distance of the beach. The staff’s approachable nature and the occasional latte art add a personal touch, inviting a relaxed pace that contrasts with the nearby urban buzz.

Overall, this café draws a diverse crowd—coffee aficionados, breakfast seekers, and locals needing a pleasant corner to start their day. Visiting mid-morning or early afternoon ensures you avoid the peak rush yet still experience the lively, everyday rhythm that makes this café feel genuinely tied to its Las Palmas neighborhood.

Great coffee and tasty pastries! We popped in for breakfast before our ferry on Wednesday morning, the cafe had customers, however, the staff was welcoming and rather quick to serve the order. Even though we are extremely picky with coffee, we were pleasantly surprised with the high quality here. Definitely worth a try!

I’m so glad I found this espresso bar. The espresso is smooth, bright, and delicious and, by far, the best espresso I’ve had in Las Palmas so far. The setting is a little spartan but pleasant enough, and the prices are reasonable. It’s located not far from Playa de Las Canteras. Highly recommend!

Very nice specialty cafe! We had one of the best decaf cappuccinos here from lightly roasted Honduras beans. Highly recommended! They also have various treats and sell a large variety of coffee beans.

The sandwiches are great, the bagels too. Great place for breakfast with a good coffe. Its next to a busy street, so go inside if you dont want to hear the cars rushing by.

loved everything here. staff was friendly when ordering and spoke good english, which is of course not required, but appreciated. the cappuccino has latte art, which is unusual, but it was so cute! the taste was amazing! creamy, coffee forward, milk didn’t overpower. plenty of outdoor and indoor seats. cinnamon roll with icing was warmed up and the best i’ve had in spain!

The best coffee we had in Gran Canaria They also have some baked goodies and some toasts or sandwiches, everything we tried was really good. The atmosphere is nice and chill. I really recommend, it’s the best place. My tips are: - coffee with oat milk for vegan lovers, it was absolutely amazing, like in hipster cafes in Prague - almond croissant, what a delight!

By far the best espresso bar north of Parque Santa Catalina and challenged by only a few in the entire area. Coffee and pastries are great and we are always welcomed with a smile. Thank you

Staff are pleasant, as so is the general ambience. I asked for very very hot coffee, and repeated it as boiling hot later, bacause I know how it is here on this island, but yet, it came lukewarm. I had to have it reheated, which isn't a good thing to do. The cheesecake passed my test, but I still prefer La Cafetera's. The Nutella cheesecake looks an absolute killer - perhaps I'll try it one day! The door to the gents was difficult to lock and the toilet seat won't stay up. They ought to look into this.
